Englewood Works is dedicated to empowering residents of the Englewood neighborhood on Chicago's South Side by providing comprehensive employability skills and training. We create pathways to meaningful employment, fostering economic self-sufficiency and community resilience. Through education, mentorship, and hands-on experience, we equip individuals with the tools they need to succeed in today’s workforce and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
Our After-School Program
Homework & Academics
We start each day with dedicated time for homework, math, reading, and writing, ensuring students have a strong academic foundation to build upon.
Hands-On Trade Skills
Our students get practical experience with real tools in a safe environment, including a CNC router for woodworking and other hand tools to develop valuable trade skills.
Life Skills & Enrichment
Students participate in cooking classes, creative projects, and other life-skills training to foster well-rounded personal development and confidence.
Snacks & Community
Each day includes a healthy snack and free game time, providing a safe and joyful environment for students to build friendships and community.
